Walkers traveled to Miss Porters on Saturday for opening day on what turned out to be a beautiful weather day. While starting and ending strong by scoring two runs each in the first and last innings, Porters had some clutch hitting, a pitcher who threw very hard and some inexperience on the defensive side for Walkers, resulting in an 11-5 loss. Shoutouts to A. Riendeau ’26 for striking out 12 Porters batters in six innings while also reaching base in 3 of her 4 at bats and scoring 2 runs, to K. Dabkowski ’26 who had a good day behind the plate catching for Riendeau while also getting on base in two of her 4 at bats including a hit, and to E. Sheldon ‘26 who also had a good day at the plate with a hit and a run scored. Walkers looks to shake off its first game jitters when facing Choate at home next Saturday.
