vs. Miss Porter's School

Opening day on a cold and blustery March day was challenging and filled with ups and downs.  While the result of a 15-4 loss was not what we hoped for, the game was actually closer for the first 5 innings and Walkers showed a fighting spirit in coming back to close the gap a couple of times during the game. Facing a pitcher who threw hard, our bats made adjustments to the speed the second and third time around the order as Ayden Riendeau ’26 led the way with 2 hits, 2 runs scored and 1 run batted in, while also in the circle striking out 7 from Porters. Also looking good at the plate was Emily Sanchez ’26,  Kara Dabkowski ’26 and Emma Sheldon ’26 with one hit apiece and Stella W. ’29 who walked and scored a run. In addition Walkers had seven stolen bases on the day.

As we head into our next home game against Williston on Wednesday afternoon we look to tighten up defensively and limit the big innings while putting the ball into play more consistently.
