vs. Taft School

Walker’s hosted Taft on a nice Saturday afternoon, ending in another heartbreaking defeat. After falling behind 1-0, Walker’s took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd 2-1. Defensive challenges reemerged in the 3rd and 4th innings, helping Taft take a 7-2 lead after 4 innings. Some good strike zone management in the 5th inning helped Walker’s rally, cutting the deficit to 7-6, and Walker’s retook the lead in the 6th 8-7, thanks to a leadoff double from A. DeSio ’25 and RBI hits from A. Riendeau ’26 and K. Dabkowski ’26. Some strong pitching from A. Riendeau throughout the last 3 innings nearly allowed Walker’s to hold onto the lead, but Taft was able to find a way to punch through the tying and go-ahead runs with 2 outs in the 7th.  A valiant comeback from Walker’s fell just short and will work to correct the defensive lapses heading into the next home game vs Miss Halls Wednesday May 1st.
