Game Summary

The Varsity Girls squash team traveled to the Kent School and returned with a hard fought 4-3 victory. Caroline Smith ’18 (#2), Jac Zhao ’18 (#4), Kate Manderlink ’22 (#6) and Ellery Finn ’18 (#7) played in the first round of matches. Caroline’s opponent won in four games 11-2,11-4,6-11, 11-6 and Jac lost in three games 11-7, 11-9, 11-7. Kate and Ellery played extremely well in their matches and both prevailed with Kate winning in three straight 11-4,11-7,11-9 while Ellery won 11-8,9-11,11-7,11-5 to even the score at 2-2 after the first round. The next round of matches featured the odd numbered matches with Jocelyn Feliciano ’19 (#1) playing a very strong opponent and losing in three games 11-3,11-1,11-3. Kelsey Tejada ’20 (#5) won in three straight 11-4,11-8,11-7. That left the deciding, remaining match to Maisie Smith ’18 at the #3 slot. She lost the first game 11-4, but rebounded and won the next three 11-5,12-10,11-7 to clinch the match for Ethel Walker’s. All in all, a great effort by the entire team. The girls next travel back to play the Kent School and Canterbury on Saturday.
