Game Summary

Ethel Walker fell to Marianapolis Preparatory School in three sets on Wednesday, October 15th (21-25, 21-25, 21-25). Walker’s got off to a slow start in the first set, with a couple of long serving runs by Marianapolis. Walker’s started to fight back in the second half of the set, with outside hitter Grace Grano ‘26, scoring her first two kills of the season. While Walker’s was unable to bridge the gap, in the first set, they had a strong start in the second set, with three aces from Maddie Stirt ‘27. Lianna Salamone ‘26 and Mia Miranda ‘29 had a great block. Walker’s struggled in serve-receive in the second part of the set, and was unable to come back from it. In the third set, defensive specialist Joon Mulcahy ‘26, had a serving run, but the team was unable to pull out a win. Outside/middle hitter Yihan Chen ‘27, led the team with seven kills.
