Ethel Walker won against Miss Porter’s School on Saturday, October 25th in four sets (25-19, 16-25, 25-21, 25-23). In the first set, Walker’s and Porter’s went point-for-point, but libero Rachel Lui ‘27, had a late game serving run of six points that helped seal victory for Walker’s. In the second set, Walker’s struggled in the middle of the game with serve-receive, but gained momentum towards the end of the set with some key plays from middle hitters Yihan Chen ‘27 and Asia Alston ‘28. In the third set, Mia Miranda ‘29 had a serving run that helped give Walker’s the lead. Walker’s had a slow start in the fourth set, but was able to dig deep and pull out the win with some smart plays. Outside hitter Maddie Stirt ‘27, had a career high of 18 kills, while Rachel Lui ‘27 had 21 digs.
