Game Summary

Ethel Walker won their first victory of the season in their home opener on Saturday, September 14th against Miss Porter’s (25-23, 25-19, 24-26, 25-23). Outside hitter, Maddie Stirt ‘27, led the Walker’s team in kills while middle hitter, Valarie Lawson ‘25, had several key blocks. Despite a tough loss in overtime in the third set, Walker’s came back to win the fourth set despite being down 15-21 at the final timeout. Middle hitter, Yihan Chen ‘27, and libero, Naiya Sabbagh ‘25, both had strong serving runs that helped close the gap, and the team persevered until the final point, leading to an exciting victory to start the season!
