Former Walker’s Athletes Return for Alumnae Field Hockey Game

On October 8, 2023, Walker’s reestablished the Alumnae Suns vs. Dials Field Hockey Game, which we hope to make an annual tradition. Alumnae from a wide range of class years traveled to Simsbury to reunite with each other and Varsity Head Coach Mimi Duran P’18, as well as meet current Walker’s field hockey players. Additionally, quite a few parents of alumnae came to campus to be part of the event and cheer each other on.

The fun began on Saturday evening with a gathering at a local vineyard. On Sunday morning, the group shared coffee and light refreshments by the fields. The game itself was spirited and ended in a tie after the alumnae implored Coach Duran to play overtime. After the game, the group moved to Beaver Brook for brunch, conversation, and an archival slideshow of Walker’s field hockey through the years. Optional tours were offered of the Centennial Center and our Athletics Hall of Fame.
