Gigi Peña ’26 Recognized as Boston Globe All-Scholastic Athlete

Gisselle Peña ’26 has been recognized by The Boston Globe as an All-Scholastic Athlete for her performance on the soccer field this past fall. A prestigious honor that acknowledges athletes throughout New England in both private and public schools, Peña is one of few Walker’s soccer players that has been named to this group.

During the 2024 season, Gigi Peña ’26 recorded 18 goals and 11 assists in 19 games. In the penultimate game of the season Peña scored twice in a 3-0 win over Newton Country Day School in the NEPSAC Class C quarterfinal. After recording back-to-back 10-win regular seasons, it was the first NEPSAC playoff win in program history. In two seasons at Walker’s, Peña has scored 32 goals and recorded 20 assists while playing 34 games. In 2025, Walker’s will move to NEPSAC Class B, and Peña will be joined by four classmates who also started every game in the 2024 campaign.

“Gigi is a skilled forward who had success for us both as a target and on the wing depending on what was needed,” stated Coach Griggs. “She works hard off the ball and has an unselfish attitude that allows her to be successful. Her stats speak for themselves, especially considering the quality of opponents she has faced over the past two seasons. We are excited to see what she and the other members of her class will continue to accomplish next year during their final season at Walker’s.”

Congratulations, Gigi!
