Middle School Students Explore Art and History

Middle school students on field trip

While the eighth graders took midterm exams this week, sixth and seventh grade students enjoyed field trips to the Pequot Museum, Old State House, Wadsworth Atheneum and Peabody Museum.

At the Pequot Museum on Wednesday, students participated in an archeological class activity where they learned how to identify artifacts and ecofacts. On their tour, students also learned about the past and present influences the Pequot have had in Connecticut.

On Thursday, students traveled to Hartford and dove into our state’s history at the Old State House, learning about its architectural design and about Connecticut’s heroine, Prudence Crandall, and Lady Justice. This was complemented by a trip to the Wadsworth Atheneum in the afternoon, as students explored art through the theme of Connecticut people and places.

On Friday, the girls enjoyed a trip to the Peabody Museum in New Haven. View photos below:
