Walker’s saw impressive finishes on Wednesday, January 16 against Brigham Ski League schools at Ski Sundown, finishing as the top team among the seven teams competing. Walker’s own Anneliese Sonju ’21 finished first overall for girls and boys out of the 63 racers from Walker’s, Loomis, Miss Porter’s, Avon, Gunnery, Taft, and Salisbury. Finishing second and third for the girls were teammates Elise Namnoum ’19 and Nicole Troconas ’24.
Coached this season by Gretchen Sonju in her second season and Brendan O’Dwyer in his first, Anneliese has helped Walker’s to two New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Championship titles. The team has moved from Class C to Class B and will race a few more times before the NEPSAC championship at Ski Sundown on February 13.
