Students Earn National Recognition for Academic Accomplishments

Amelia Holl and Kristen St. Louis

Two Walker’s seniors have earned national recognition for their academic accomplishments.

Amelia Holl ’21 was named a National Merit Scholarship Commended Scholar. Commended Scholars place among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2021 competition by taking the 2019 PSAT. As a NMSQT official points out, “Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success. These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.”

Additionally, in the College Board’s National Recognition Program which grants academic honors to students with high PSAT scores and top high school GPAs, both Amelia and Kristen St. Louis ’21 were identified as top scholars. Amelia earned the recognition for African American scholars, and Kristen earned both the African American Recognition as well as the Hispanic Recognition.

Congratulations to Amelia and Kristen!
