Eight students in Jennifer Pelletier’s International Relations and Model UN course represented the country of Kenya during a Model UN conference Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2 at the University of Hartford.

Students sat on five different committees and worked towards solving a crisis using information gathered during an October meeting with the South Sudan Mission to the United Nations in New York City.

“I thought it was fun observing and participating in debates about changing the world,” one student said. “It felt like we were actually real delegates,” said another.

Around 1,000 students attended the conference, sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Connecticut.
