Students Share Hispanic Heritage with Walker’s Community

During assembly on Wednesday, September 25, members of Walker’s Latinx American Student Organization (LASO) celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 through October 15) with an assembly entitled “Recuerda” (“Remember”).

Students and faculty members shared important terms and definitions, common misconceptions about Hispanic or Latinx culture, traditions, poems and personal anecdotes, and prominent Hispanic and Latinx figures who paved the way for future generations.
