On October 3, 2026, The Ethel Walker School Field Hockey program hosted its 14th Annual Play4TheCure Playday, bringing together 15 middle school teams in grades 6-8 from Connecticut and Massachusetts for a day of field hockey, community, and a shared commitment to fighting cancer.
Play4TheCure is about more than the game. It’s an opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors, honor loved ones we’ve lost, and raise funds to support the fight against cancer. Teams from Glastonbury, East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, Plumb Hill, Simsbury, Walker’s, West Hartford, Wethersfield, and Wilton participated in this meaningful day.
“Every year we host Play4tTheCure, I struggle to put into words how proud I am of our players. Watching them come together for something bigger than themselves makes all the hard work worth it. I’m equally grateful for the people who stand behind us year after year — our parents, friends, and colleagues who give their time, lend a hand, donate, and support this event in so many ways. You make this day possible, and I hope you know how much it means to me personally. I couldn’t do it without you, and I’m so thankful to have such a wonderful community behind our program.”
– Mimi Duran P’18, Associate Athletic Director
Thank you to the generosity and support of the field hockey community, as well as the greater community. We are so grateful to every player, coach, referee, family, and donor who helped make this day a success!
