Katherine Tang ’22 has been recognized as a commended student in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, was presented at an all-school meeting by Director of College Counseling Clarissa Basch.
“Katherine is an exemplary student and is fully committed to everything she does,” said Basch. “She is a scholar, musician and athlete. Her commitment to doing her best each day is an extraordinary example of a student who wants to contribute to her own success and also to the success of her school. We are so proud of all she’s accomplished and are excited to see what the future holds.”
As a Commended Student, Katherine placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2022 competition by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
