Walker’s Students Accepted to Competitive Middlebury Young Writers’ Conference

March 7, 2019

Three Walker’s students have been accepted to participate in the New England Young Writers’ Conference (NEYWC), a highly selective writing workshop for New England high school students held at Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf campus.

Fiona Mucaj ’21, Ella Samson ’20 and Kristen St. Louis ’21 were recommended by Walker’s English Department for their exceptional skills in creative writing.

“We are so proud of Fiona, Kristen and Ella,” said English Department Chair Catherine Reed. “When you read their work, it is easy to see why they took this exceptional trio. These young writers will admirably represent Walker’s at this elite and inspiring conference. They will also have a chance to learn from equally talented peers and many wonderful published authors in a beautiful mountain setting in Vermont.”

Walker’s Michael Leonard Fund will help to support the four-day conference. To learn more about NEYWC, visit sites.middlebury.edu/neywc.
