Game Summary

Traveling down to Hamden on Wednesday, the Walker’s team showed up ready and motivated to get a win. Playing for something greater than themselves, the game was dedicated in support of Morgan’s Message, “that strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community.”

In the first half, the Walker’s lacrosse team struggled to gain possessions, with a talented Hornets midfielder securing most of the draw controls. In a five-goal deficit at the half, the team was determined to play this game out. Fueled by the energy and drive I. In Garcia ‘24, the team rallied their effort and made an incredible comeback throughout the third, beginning the fourth quarter down just 9-7. With positivity, fun, and determination as the key drivers of the Walker’s team, they were able to limit the Hamden Hall offense while capitalizing on plays to find the back of the net and tie the game 10-10, with 5:05 left in the game. Unfortunately, a goal in the game’s final minutes and a skilled draw control by Hamden Hall allowed them to take the win with a final score of 11-10. While this may be recorded as a loss for Walker’s, the team played excellent and continues to improve with each game.
