Game Summary

Two very evenly matched teams saw out a 0-0 first half with limited chances for either team. Choate had better possession but Walker’s defence worked extremely hard to nullify all attacks, closing down the opposition and successfully playing wide in transition. After half time both teams sensed that the game was there for the taking and Choate eventually got the breakthrough from a near post corner scrambled in amongst a group of players. Choate added a second from a switch of play and a shot from a difficult angle. With 7 minutes to play Walker’s responded well and created a series of chances. When a ball was cleared by Choate to midfield, Avalon K.’30 did not hesitate to shoot from 25 yards and score a potential ‘goal of the season’ high into the net The game ended with high energy as a 2-1 loss for Walker’s but as a great experience in a constantly competitive encounter.
