Director of Social Justice and Inclusion Presents at Women’s Leadership Conference

Walker’s Director of Social Justice and Inclusion Elisa Del Valle Cardona presented at the 5th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference at the University of New Haven on October 4. The conference, which featured keynote addresses by Eileen Scully and Tiffany Dufu, provided participants with practical tools and inspired wisdom around the theme of women’s empowerment. In Elisa’s session, “Unlearning Our Socialization to Build Solidarity,” participants took a deep dive into the manifestations of internalized sexism and the ways in which this internalization harms women in their relationships with one another. This session provided women with the tools to notice, name and shift internalized sexism as a way to show up for, lift, and inspire other women in collective community and solidarity.
