On Wednesday afternoon, the varsity field hockey team traveled to the Frederick Gunn School. Walker’s team came out sluggish in the opening quarter, allowing Frederick Gunn to capitalize and score the first goal in under nine minutes. Unfortunately, Walker’s continued to struggle to gain momentum, conceding three more goals in the second quarter.
After regrouping at halftime, Walker’s had several opportunities to score in the third and fourth quarters but could not capitalize on them. The defense managed to limit Frederick Gunn to just one goal in those quarters.
Anchoring the defense, Abby Spencer, Class of 2027, made 21 saves, including four on breakaways.
