vs. Westminster School

On Monday afternoon, Walker’s varsity soccer team hosted Westminster in a battle of Simsbury. The visitors jumped on the scoreboard early and took a 6-0 lead into halftime. The hosts came out after halftime and continued to work hard, scoring twice before falling 9-2 on the day.

With 20 minutes remaining in the contest, Lucie Martinelli ’27 whipped in an in-swinging corner kick, and Ayden Riendeau ’26 beat her defender to the ball for a header that put Walker’s on the scoreboard. This was the third straight game where Martinelli recorded an assist, and Riendeau found the back of the net. Martinelli followed that up six minutes later with her sixth goal of the season to score 6-2.

Walker’s will return to action with another home game on Wednesday, October 12, when they host Wilbraham & Monson. The game is set to kick off at 3:00 p.m.
