Game Summary
Ethel Walker fell to the Canterbury School in four sets on Friday, October 10th (20-25, 25-23, 16-25, 15-25). This match was Canterbury’s Dig Pink game, and both teams honored those affected by breast cancer. Walker’s was ahead for most of the first set, with setter Violet Tran ‘26, having several multi-point serving runs. However, Canterbury pulled ahead at the end of the set with a strong set of serves by their libero. In the second set, libero Rachel Lui ‘27, had five aces, Walker’s did a great job of never letting the ball hit the floor. In the third set, Walker’s struggled with some unforced hitting errors. In the last set, Walker’s was down by almost 10 points, but refused to give up as a team. They showed great communication and support for each other despite the loss. Outside hitter Maddie Stirt ‘27, led the team with 14 kills, while middle hitters Lianna Salamone ‘26, and Asia Alston ‘28, each had three blocks.
