Freshwoman to Represent Walker’s at the Connecticut Poetry Out Loud State Finals

Mikayla Morales ’23 will represent Walker’s at the Connecticut Poetry Out Loud State Finals on March 14.

Mikayla was selected for the competition by members of Walker’s faculty following performances by four Walker’s students on January 31. Mikayla recited “How to Triumph Like a Girl” by Ada Limón. Lizzy Strapp ’21 was selected as Walker’s alternate.

The winner of the state finals will have the opportunity to represent the state of Connecticut in Washington, DC in April for the National Poetry Out Loud Competition.
