Ethel Walker School
On Saturday, May 5, members from Walker’s robotics team, the Wirecats, attended the Simsbury Mini Maker Faire, a showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness. There were 51 maker events and just over 3,300 attendees coming from Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Tennessee and France. The Wirecats enjoyed showing the workings of their robot with curious children (and children at heart!)
Walker’s attendees included students Caroline Bastarache ’19, Amanda Gould ’19, Jasmine Morris ’19 and Grace Mugo ’21; and mentors Akash Rastogi (head coach/lead mentor), Molly Connolly (engineering mentor, UTC Aerospace), Meredith Emerson (engineering mentor, Pratt and Whitney).
