Libby Moore visited campus and inspired our students with stories from her own journey of self-discovery. Through personal experiences and reflections, she shared how the lessons she has learned shaped the life and personal narrative she lives today.
As a Certified Life Coach, international speaker, and founder of LoveX Global, Libby is dedicated to bringing the energy of love back into business and helping people and organizations align with their higher selves to achieve their greater purpose. Before launching her own work, Libby served as Chief of Staff to Oprah Winfrey for more than a decade, during which she was mentored directly by Ms. Winfrey. She also held roles as Executive Assistant to Jann Wenner, founder of Rolling Stone magazine, and as Personal Assistant to Maury Povich. Today, Libby travels the world sharing her experiences and insights, guiding individuals and corporations to reimagine culture through the lens of higher consciousness.
At the end of her lecture, Libby shared three important things for our students to remember as they make their way in the world.
“Number one: Remember that you are your authentic, unique, individual self. That is the thing that’s going to make you stand out above everybody else—because only you can be you. You have your own special gifts that are here to offer this world.
Number two: Listen to your inner voice. You can call it intuition, your gut, your instinct, or your inner wisdom. That will guide you exactly where you need to go. Listen to that voice, as it will always direct you onto the path that you most need to be on.
And lastly: Do not give away your power. This is something I learned while I was working with Oprah. Six months into the job, there was someone on our team who was very difficult to work with. Everyone seemed to bow down to this person. I said to Oprah, ‘I can’t believe everyone is just kowtowing to this person.’ She said, ‘Libby, you are my chief of staff. If you think that person has more power than you, you’re right—because you just gave it to them.'”
Libby left the audience with an important reminder: though it may look different for everyone, the lesson remains the same—listen to your heart, trust your instincts, and hold onto your power.
Reflecting on the experience, Student Body President Ella H. ’26 shared:
“The reaction to Libby Moore’s visit was absolutely astounding. I didn’t expect her presence to have such an impact on our student body. After she left campus, I kept hearing things like: ‘She was one of the first speakers at this school that I really connected with,’ or ‘I want her to be our commencement speaker!,’ and even ‘I felt like she was talking directly to me when she was presenting.’ This is the power of having a speaker who tailors her message to her audience, genuinely cares, and makes us care about what she is saying.’”
