Toan Huynh ’93 Named 2023 Commencement Speaker

Toan Huynh ‘93, a distinguished leader in technology and finance, will give the keynote speech at The Ethel Walker School’s 111th Commencement on May 28, 2023. Huynh has over 24 years of experience working with and investing in enterprise technology and services companies, with a focus on those enabled by underlying innovation such as AI, data, cloud, quantum, and blockchain. She co-founded a cloud technology and services company called GlobalOne/CloudSherpas, which was acquired by Accenture in 2015 in its largest acquisition to date.

Huynh was recently the U.S.-based Partner for IVP, a Canada-based Series A fund where she oversaw and managed their U.S. portfolio of companies. Currently, she serves as an Operating Advisor for several growth funds, a global bank, and an investment bank, and is an Independent Director for a Top 5 U.S.-based regional bank and a NASDAQ-listed fintech. She also serves on many private and public boards including the Board of Trustees of The Ethel Walker School.

Head of School Dr. Meera Viswanathan praised Huynh’s leadership skills and said that she is a transformative leader standing at the intersection between innovations in technology, venture capital, and private equity. “She doesn’t just envision the future, she helps to realize it,” said Viswanathan.

Huynh graduated with Honors from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Economics and received a Certificate in International Economics from Kyung Hee University. She is also an avid advocate for women in technology and finance, where her leadership and dedication have made a significant impact.

The Ethel Walker School’s 111th Commencement exercises will be held on Sunday, May 28 at 9:30 a.m. at the School’s Simsbury, CT campus. The event will celebrate the achievements of the graduating class and feature Huynh’s keynote speech.
