On Saturday, October 4, the field hockey community gathered for the 13th Annual Play4TheCure Play Day, a powerful testament to a shared mission: to celebrate cancer survivors, honor cherished loved ones, and raise funds to fight against cancer.
Walker’s hosted 15 teams, including Avon, Agawam, Canton, Glastonbury, East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, Regional School District 20, Simsbury, West Hartford, Wethersfield, and Wilton. Walker’s Varsity Field Hockey Coach Mimi Duran reflects, “We are fortunate to have such dedicated and compassionate members within our community supporting the tens of thousands of youth athletes and adults who ‘Play 4 The Cure’ each day.”
Though it was a long day, it was filled with purpose. Our teams represented Walker’s with pride both on and off the field. Coach Duran is grateful for everyone’s efforts in ensuring the event ran smoothly — making announcements, managing the concession stand, playing music, refereeing, and more.
Thank you to those who contributed to the cause and joined us for this meaningful day.
