Game Summary

Walker’s hosted Wilbraham & Monson in a re-match of last year’s Class C quarterfinal. Wilbraham won that game, hitting a late 3 to dash Walker’s postseason hopes. However, Walker’s was determined to not let that happen again, and played good defense and executed their game plan perfectly to win 58-45. Walker’s jumped out to an early lead and forcing Wilbraham to play from behind. After leading 13-8 at the end of the first quarter, Walker’s outscored their opponents 21-9 in the second, going into half with a 17 point lead. In the locker room, Walker’s emphasized playing a strong third quarter and not letting Wilbraham back in the game. They did, extending their lead by one after three. Wilbraham fought hard the entire game, cutting the deficit to as few as 9 in the fourth quarter.

Walker’s had at least 6 points from 7 different players, spreading out their game offensively and proving difficult to defend. It was a great Class C win, and Walker’s will look to keep the momentum going when they travel to perennial Class A powerhouse Loomis on Monday afternoon.
