vs. The Taft School

Game Summary

Ethel Walker fell to the Taft School in their first home game of the season on Wednesday, September 17th, in three sets (15-25, 13-25, 21-25). Outside/rightside hitter Liana Salamone ‘26 led the team with five kills while Asia Alston ‘28 and Yihan Chen ‘27 each had three block touches. Walker’s had a great start to the first set, with Violet Tran ‘26 starting off with strong serves. Taft got several serving runs in the first set, and Walker’s was unable to close the gap. In the second set, Walker’s struggled with serve-receive, but gained momentum towards the end of the set. In the final set, Walker’s and Taft went point for point, with Walker’s winning the longest rally of the game with a corner shot from Liana Salamone ‘26. Although they were unable to come back in serve-receive, Walker’s showed they could compete on a high level and are ready for their next away game.
