Involvement: Cross Country, Theater, SunDaemon (Literary Magazine), and Drama Club

“Hi! My name is Abby McCaffrey! I entered Walker’s as a freshman last year and am currently in my sophomore year! Being a Cicerone challenges me as well as teaches me to adapt to my surroundings and truly embrace change. I want to showcase to prospective families just how welcoming Walker’s is and how it truly feels like home for so many students like me, even after your first time stepping onto campus!”

What is your favorite class and why?

I love History! Being able to look back and connect aspects of the “previous” world to our current world is so fascinating to me! Observing and understanding the ethics behind certain courses of action and learning about different cultures is one of my favorite things to discuss.

What advice would you give to an incoming Walker’s student?

Talk to everyone! Whether they’re a part of your advisory or you’re in front of them in the lunch line, get to know them! You never know what you might have in common with someone, and that’s how I made so many of my friends today.

How do you feel you have grown (academically, emotionally, mentally) since your first day at Walker’s?

Being at Walker’s for almost over a year now has truly taught me and allowed me to grow not only academically but also emotionally. If I were to tell my past self that I participated in a corn hole competition or joined three new clubs, my mind would have been blown!
