Hi! This is my fourth year at Walker’s. I am currently a senior and I joined Walker’s in my 9th grade year. Being a cicerone is very important to me because I enjoy having the opportunity to talk and get to know families. Sharing my Walker’s experiences and all the opportunities that are available to everyone excites me. Being able to share the community and family we have built here at Walker’s is one of my favorite things. I want to be able to show prospective families our community and the many different unique traditions that we have at Walker’s.”

What is your favorite class and why?

My favorite class is Biology of Women. I love science and especially biology, and being able to learn about my own body is so unique and not something that is offered everywhere.

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

A unique experience I have had at Walker’s is being able to be the sun spirit head. Being able to be the leader of a group that surrounds our entire school and school culture is so fun, the excitement and cheerfulness that I get to bring into this position is what I love.

What is your favorite part of your typical day at Walker’s? What do you look forward to every day?

My favorite part of my day at Walker’s is being able to go to the dorm after classes, sports and dinner, and catch up with all of my friends. I also love to relax, do homework, or hang out in the Cluett pit with all of my friends and favorite dorm parents.

What is your favorite part about being a boarder?

My favorite part about being a boarder is having such an amazing bond with all of my friends. Being able to spend time with everyone in the dorms in classes brings us all so close.

What advice would you give to an incoming Walker’s student?

My advice to any incoming Walker’s student is to take every single opportunity that comes your way, even if you are nervous or scared to try out for something, do it. There is something for everyone here and once you find your place you will make your best memories.

What do you think is the biggest benefit of attending school at Walker’s?

The biggest benefit of attending Walker’s is all of the life skills that you take with you. Walker’s is not just about teaching academics but it also teaches you valuable life skills that you will take with you for the rest of your life.

How do you feel you have grown (academically, emotionally, mentally) since your first day at Walker’s?

I feel that every aspect of me has grown in someway since coming to Walker’s. I have excelled academically in every subject and I have grown to be my own independent person mentally and emotionally.

How do you think Walker’s has prepared you for your future?

Walker’s has set me up for success in many ways, and I feel extremely prepared to go off to college and succeed. I even feel prepared for after college to live on my own, be successful, and take my skills from Walker’s and implement those into my life.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

My favorite thing to do in my free time is to spend time with my friends and dorm parents. I love hanging out in the Cluett pit with everyone.
