“I joined Walker’s in my freshman year. I am so excited to be a Cicerone! When I was touring, I looked up to the girls touring me. I wanted to be just like them. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to be just like them. I can’t wait to show prospective students what a great place Walker’s is!”
My favorite class I’ve taken thus far was ninth-grade physics. Beforehand, I had never considered myself much of a science person. However, I loved physics, the algebra that came with it, and the collaborative classroom environment. I now look forward to my future science classes!
The advice I’d give to an incoming Walker’s student is to try everything you can! I know everybody says that, but it’s true. There are so many options when it comes to classes, clubs, community partnerships, and more. If you’re interested in something (or think you may be interested in it), try it! Walker’s is a great place to try as much as you can.
I’d say the biggest benefit of attending Walker’s is the community that comes with it. I have grown into a much more confident person. I am not afraid to take risks and ask questions. There have been so many amazing opportunities presented to me that I know I would not have received had I attended a different school. I am so happy to go to a school as community-based and encouraging as Walker’s.
