“Hi, my name is Emilia. I am a Level 9 competitive gymnast but during school I enjoy English, French and science. I have also participated in Newspaper, Gardening, and Origami Clubs. I was sad to leave the Middle School but I’m excited for the new adventures in the Upper School.”

What advice would you give to an incoming Walker’s student?

Do not be afraid to put yourself out there. On my first day at Walker’s, I was afraid to even talk to anyone, but once I started opening up, everyone was so sweet. I even met some of my best friends. I was also afraid to fail or get questions wrong, but my teachers were very approachable and easy to talk to.

How do you think Walker’s has prepared you for your future?

Walker’s has given me so many opportunities to engage in classes I never thought I would enjoy. I took Latin in sixth grade, which has helped me a lot while learning French. I also had the most amazing advisor last year that really helped me get through the year and got me into the classes I wanted for next year.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

I love doing gymnastics. I have been competing since I was five and have loved it since that day. I am now a Level 9, which I am very excited about. I have also just recently gotten a puppy, which has been tough but I love playing with him and training him.
