“Hello, I’m Judith! I’m a junior and a day student. I joined Walker’s last year as a sophomore, and even though I didn’t know anyone at first, I immediately felt at home in the school community. Since then, I’ve discovered so much about myself here! I became a Cicerone because I want prospective students to feel welcome and supported as they explore whether Walker’s is the right place for them. My goal is to highlight the school honestly while keeping your interests in mind. Most of all, I hope to be a friendly face you can easily talk to and ask questions. I can’t wait to meet you!“
My favorite events at Walker’s are the chapel ceremonies and banquets that are held around the year. During each event, the entire Walker’s community gather in the chapel and celebrates the special occasion. Whether we are celebrating the Opening Chapel, Thanksgiving, or Winter Holidays, each chapel is thoughtfully organized and crafted. We have student, staff, faculty, and guest speakers leading the event, making our entire community come together. We sometimes end with a banquet dinner with our Advisory. I absolutely adore this tradition and I’m so grateful to be able to experience it!
The biggest advice that I would give to an incoming Walker’s student is to be yourself. This community is so welcoming and accepting no matter who you are. The more you let your true self shine, the more you’ll discover about yourself and grow the person you’re meant to be!
One of the biggest benefits of attending Walker’s is the abundance of opportunities available here. I’ve been able to try so many new things and take on experiences I never would have had anywhere else. From leadership roles and trying new sports and activities, to having my voice truly heard in class. Walker’s has created a space for me to grow in countless ways. This school encourages us to step up, take risks, and discover what we’re capable of in a really supportive environment. I’m so grateful for all of the experiences I’ve had here and the ways they’ve helped me grow!
