“Hi, I’m Livi! I entered Walker’s as a freshman and a boarding student. Being a Cicerone enables us to show the love we have for the school and help kids feel the same excitement about this place that we do. I’m very excited to show prospective families the beautiful campus and the welcoming community we have!”

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

One of my favorite and most unique experiences was participating in the Holiday Ride, where we dress up ourselves and our horses and do a routine to Christmas music in front of the whole school. I truly did not think I’d be able to do this and it was one of the best days ever. The bonding I had with my teammates and horses were just amazing!

What is your favorite part about being a boarder?

My favorite part about being a boarder is being able to be friends with people you normally wouldn’t be friends with. It’s like living with a big family — you always have people to hang out with. My favorite part of the day is watching a movie and playing cards with the other boarders. You never feel alone when you live with a huge group of people.

What advice would you give to an incoming Walker’s student?

My advice would be to try everything and put effort into everything you try. When I came to Walker’s I was nervous about trying things and it slowed me down. Now I am going to restart soccer, take harder classes, and push myself to try things. That’s exactly what incoming students should do — you’ll meet more people and maybe find out you are really passionate about something you never thought you would be.
