“Hi, I’m Maggie. I entered Walker’s as a freshman. I love having conversations with people and make friends with them. I’m a flute player and a squash player, and I truly enjoy participating and have been persisting in these activities for a long time. Being a cicerone is so important for me and I can’t wait to introduce Walker’s to you and share my amazing life here at The School!”

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

The most special experience I think is Mountain Day. I remember Mountain Day last year was on October 3rd. At that time, because I was not particularly outgoing, I did not make many friends, but in the process of climbing the mountain, I met a lot of people. When I finally climbed to the top of the mountain, the scenery was really beautiful, it was the scenery I had never seen before, and it was also the scenery I would always remember.

What is your favorite part of your typical day at Walker’s? What do you look forward to every day?

My favorite part is definitely athletics. I love and enjoy training with my teammates and encouraging each other to overcome difficulties. Even though I was only able to play volleyball my freshman year due to an injury, I feel so much love. All the squash players wrote me a card before I left America and went back home for my surgery.

What advice would you give to an incoming Walker’s student?

My advice is to manage time effectively. It is important to manage time and make a plan to complete the tasks assigned by teachers. Enjoy life while everything is on schedule.

How do you feel you have grown (academically, emotionally, mentally) since your first day at Walker’s?

Academically, I learned how to better plan my time and self-learning ability. This is the first time for me to go to school alone. Emotionally, although I am not dependent on my family, I had a big accident this year, which made me learn to deal with things without panic, communication and solve it calmly. Mentally, I became more mature more like an adult who can face setbacks and difficulties on my own.
