Hi! My name is Pe’yton McLeish, and I’m in the class of 2027. I came to Walker’s as a freshman, and from the moment I toured campus, I knew I wanted to be a Cicerone. I love showing people the parts of our school that make it special—from the coolest hangout spots to hidden gems around campus. Being a Cicerone lets me share my excitement for Walker’s with others, and I can’t wait to help new students feel welcome and inspired!”

What is your favorite class and why?

My favorite class is Mythologies because I love learning about different stories and cultures. I enjoy being able to express my ideas and get creative with what I write. Learning about myths is really cool, and it’s interesting to see how they are included in our everyday lives!

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

A unique experience I’ve had at Walker’s is playing different sports. When I first arrived, I never thought I’d try so many and get involved in athletics. It’s been exciting and a great way to meet new people and challenge myself.

What is your favorite part of your typical day at Walker’s? What do you look forward to every day?

My favorite part of my day at Walker’s is seeing my friends in the halls and between classes. I always look forward to that time because it gives me energy and makes the day feel lighter. I also like having a routine where there’s always something new to learn or do.

What advice would you give to an incoming Walker’s student?

I’d tell a new Walker’s student to get involved and try different things. It’s the best way to make friends and feel at home here. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help!

What do you think is the biggest benefit of attending school at Walker’s?

I think the biggest benefit of Walker’s is that it’s small and all-girls, so it feels really supportive. Everyone knows each other, and it’s easy to build close friendships and connections with teachers. You also get more chances to participate in class and activities because the community is so close-knit.

How do you feel you have grown (academically, emotionally, mentally) since your first day at Walker’s?

Since my first day at Walker’s, I feel like I’ve grown a lot. I’ve improved my public speaking skills and feel more confident talking in front of groups. I’ve also started trying out for leadership positions, which I never would have done before. Overall, I feel braver and more willing to take on challenges!

How do you think Walker’s has prepared you for your future?

Walker’s has prepared me for the future by helping me become more confident and independent. I’ve learned how to speak up, take on challenges, and try new opportunities—which will help me in college and later in life.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

My favorite thing to do in my free time is play field hockey. I play because I want to continue playing in college. I also love being part of a team and staying active!
