“Im Scarlett and this is my 3rd year at Walker’s and now Im in 11th grade. I am so happy to be a Cicerone because Walker’s has given me so many opportunities not just to grow as a student, but also as a leader, a friend, and a member of a truly special community. Being a Cicerone allows me to give back by sharing that experience with others. If I can help even one person see how welcoming, empowering, and inspiring our community is, then I know I’ve made a difference.”
English and Biology are my favorite classes. I really enjoy learning about Biology because it helps me understand how life works on a deeper level. I love English because I enjoy creating stories. Writing allows me to express myself, explore new ideas, and bring my imagination to life.
A unique experience I’ve had at Walker’s is the incredible encouragement I’ve received from both teachers and friends to always try my hardest, especially in sports. I’ve always loved horseback riding, but being part of this community has helped me discover new passions I never expected, like swimming and running. I don’t think I would have explored those interests or pushed myself outside my comfort zone without the support and motivation from my peers.
My favorite part of a typical day at Walker’s is seeing my friends and spending time with my teammates. Whether I’m riding, swimming, or running, I always feel encouraged by the people around me.
My favorite part about being a boarder is the strong sense of community and connection I feel every day. Living on campus means I’m constantly surrounded by friends who feel more like family. We support each other through everything—whether it’s late-night study sessions, early morning practices, or just hanging out in the dorms. There’s always someone to talk to, laugh with, or lean on.
The advice I would give to an incoming Walker’s student is to push yourself and try new things, even if they feel a little outside your comfort zone. Walker’s is a place full of opportunities, whether it’s in academics, sports, the arts, or leadership. Don’t be afraid to take risks, join a new club, or try out for a team you’ve never been on. You might discover a new passion or talent you didn’t know you had.
I think the biggest benefit of attending school at Walker’s is all the opportunities it offers. Walker’s provides a supportive environment where students can explore their interests and develop new skills.
Since my first day at Walker’s, I feel I have grown a lot, academically, emotionally, and mentally. Academically, I’ve become more confident in my abilities and have discovered new subjects that really interest me. Emotionally, I’ve learned how to handle challenges better and have built stronger relationships with my friends and teachers. Mentally, I’ve become more independent and resilient, thanks to the support and encouragement I receive every day.
I believe Walker’s has prepared me well for my future by providing a strong foundation in both academics and personal growth.strong, and independent.
In my free time, I love talking with my friends, riding horses, and playing games out in the field. These activities help me relax, have fun, and connect with the people around me. Horseback riding is especially special to me because I get to connect with an amazing animal and it is so special to experience that.
