The junior varsity team is an integral part of the program. Players have regular opportunity to enjoy healthy competition, improve their lacrosse skills, and move up to varsity. Walker's lacrosse program continues to build momentum, and is attracting gifted student athletes with a strong desire to learn and excel.
Walker’s lacrosse team competes in the Class C Western New England Prep School League (NEPSAC). Walker’s won the Class C title in 2005, 2008, and 2009 and placed second in 2007. Walker’s lacrosse also competes in the prestigious Founders League. League competitors include Choate, Taft, Hotchkiss, Loomis, Westminster, Kent, Kingswood Oxford, and Miss Porter’s.

Our lacrosse program provides our varsity-level athletes with interscholastic competition at the very highest level allowing experienced players to continue on their path elevating their play, while providing our JV team with an introduction to the skills and strategies needed to develop as a player. Our program explores the sport across generations to deepen our players’ understanding of the sport’s growth and popularity among girls.
Walker’s lacrosse team competes in the Class C Western New England Prep School League (NEPSAC). Walker's won the Class C title in 2005, 2008, and 2009 and placed second in 2007. Student athletes on the Middle School lacrosse team are taught to learn and love the game. Our students from grades six through eight spend their practice time understanding the fundamentals of lacrosse and the skill sets that will allow them to become better players in the future.
The Middle School lacrosse team provides an outlet for physical activity in a fun yet competitive environment. The team has practices designated to working on skills that will help them win games. At the most basic level, the Middle School lacrosse program encourages participation for each player, and with that participation comes the growth of a competitive spirit and a joy in playing the game of lacrosse.

Jill Mountford
Coach Jill Mountford is in her first year as head coach of Walker’s lacrosse program. Prior to Walker’s, Jill was the head lacrosse coach and assistant soccer coach at Gann Academy. Jill has also coached with 3d New England for numerous years and coached the 2025 3d national team in the summer of 2022. She has a USA Lacrosse Level 1 Coaching Certification. Jill’s approach to coaching is centered around building confidence. As a player, she was a First-Team All-State defender in 2018 and 2019.
