“Hi, my name is Quinn and I am a part of the Class of 2025. I have the unique perspective of experiencing life in both the Upper and Middle School at Walker’s. While at Walker’s, I have really enjoyed taking Chemistry and Government and Politics. I also loved being able to try many different arts in Middle School.”

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

A unique experience I have had while at Walker’s is that I found an opportunity to volunteer at Horizons, a program at Walker’s that helps underprivileged children during the summer to stop the “summer slide.” I volunteered for six weeks during the summer in the classroom with the Pre-K students. With this opportunity has come many more. I am now the co-head of the Horizons Community Partnership.

What advice would you give to an incoming Walker’s student?

My advice for a new student is to get out of your comfort zone and try new things. Walker’s has so many different new things you can try, whether it is trying out for a new sport or new class. It might be scary at first but you might find a new passion.

What do you think is the biggest benefit of attending school at Walker’s?

The biggest benefit of attending Walker’s is that I found my voice and ask more questions in class. Before joining Walker’s, it was very rare for me to ask questions in class, with the fear that I would be made fun of for not knowing the answer. Now I ask questions and understand my classes more, knowing it is a safe place for me to learn and express my views.
