“Hi! My name is Kipley and I entered Walker’s as a freshman boarder. I think being a Cicerone is a great way to add a more personal touch to the Admission process by giving families a way to learn about the school from someone with firsthand experience on how it currently runs. It also allows connections with prospective students and give them a ready-made ally upon arrival at the school, which is something i believe is extremely important as starting high school is monumental for everyone. I want to let prospective students know about all of the unique traditions and things that make Walker’s such a special sisterhood.”
My favorite class is definitely Ms. MacAlpine’s Choir class because there are people from every grade in it. The energy Ms. MacAlpine brings to it every day is unmatched and makes everyone’s day ten times brighter.
How close I became to my dorm faculty and how in just nine months I saw them as family.
My favorite part of the day at Walker’s is after evening study hall because that’s when we play games as a dorm, eat snacks, watch movies, and just enjoy each other’s company.
My favorite part of being a boarder is having my friends live with me so I can hang out with them whenever I want.
Just be yourself. The right people will come around in time. Don’t allow anyone to make you feel unwanted because you are wanted and you do belong!
The best benefit of Walker’s in my opinion is being able to be so close to so many students and be around people of so many different backgrounds because you get to learn about so many different experiences and make lifelong friends that you wouldn’t have crossed paths with otherwise.
I have learned to tough out bad situations. I’ve learned to ask for help on my own and be more independent in my school work. I’ve learned that no matter what, everything will work itself out as long as you put in the time.
Walker’s has allowed me to learn about being self-sufficient and stand up for myself when I need to.
Ride my horses!
