“Hello! My name is Allison and I entered Walker’s my freshman year. Being a Cicerone is important to me because it allows me to provide prospective families with an insight into Walker’s life! When families come to visit Walker’s, it is very important that they can see the spaces on campus, and how it fits into different student lifestyles. I am super involved in athletics and I enjoy showcasing Walker’s athletics and how they fit into daily life!”

What is your favorite class and why?

My favorite class at Walker’s my freshman year was my Video/Movie Production class. I consider myself to be a very creative person and it was super cool to be able to try an art that I have never done before! This class allowed me to experiment with cameras, and in the end create a short film that many people loved!

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

In my years before Walker’s, I was a very quiet person, and I despised being the center of attention. The Walker’s community differs from my previous school because I feel so much more involved and valued. I changed a lot my freshman year and pushed myself to try new things. By the end of my freshman year, I held a position on the Weekend Activities board. An experience I never thought I would be involved in before Walker’s was when a friend and I willingly hosted a talent show in front of the entire school!

What advice would you give to an incoming Walker’s student?

One big piece of advice I would give to an incoming student is to try some new things! My freshman year, although I was reluctant, I decided to try lacrosse. I was scared of judgement, but I had nothing to worry about because when I joined, everyone on the team was so welcoming. I got closer with so many people and ended up having such a fun season!
