“Hi, I’m Tiffany and I came to Walker’s as a freshman boarding student. As a Cicerone who’s job is to help showcase the beauty of our school, it is my hope to achieve this goal. I hope that while touring all prospective students and their families, they begin to fall in love with Walker’s in the same way I have.”

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

This year I have had the opportunity to attend the Malcolm Bernard HBCU College Fair in New York. When I arrived at Walker’s as a freshman and even now as a junior, I hadn’t thought much about colleges believing that I had plenty of time. But at the beginning of the year in collaboration with the heads of our Black Student Union and our college counseling office a trip was planned. The college fair opened my eyes and helped me learn more about HBCU’s and their history. It was also rewarding to witness some of our seniors receive on-site acceptances.

How do you think Walker’s has prepared you for your future?

I have gone through life hearing time and time again that connections are everything and at Walker’s you make countless. These connections include not only the ones formed with teachers and friends but also alumnae. After becoming an Advancement Ambassador, I along with others are able to help bridge the gap between alumnae and students. Forming connections that will last a lifetime is one of the highlights of boarding school and Walker’s makes sure that we make the most of them.

What do you think is the biggest benefit of attending school at Walker’s?

As a student of Walker’s you are given countless opportunities. No matter what you are passionate about, The School gives you the chance to share it with others. At Walker’s you can easily create your own clubs, your own community partnerships, and actively participate in almost everything. Here you are given a chance to shine no matter what, but it is up to you to take it.
